Neon Beat on Radio George - 9.10.12

On The Neon Beat this week, Jukebox 1: Ray Charles opens Juke 1 with a "Halleluja" that wound up raising a few hackles with the "religious conservatives" of the day. (how things have changed...) Sarah Vaughan follows it up with a period Broadway favorite, "Whatever Lola Wants." Louis Armstrong toots and sings "Mame." Hear the horn of Harry James with Helen Forest singing, "I'm Beginning To See the Light." Frank Sinatra sings a lovely hit song called, "Love's Been Good To Me. Johnny Mathis, Mel Torme, Billy Holiday and more.

On The Neon Beat This Week, Juke 2: We kick it off with "Help Yourself" by Tom Jones. Then enjoy "A Wonderful Time Up There" with Pat Boone. Della Reese sings her 1959 hit, "Don't You Know." Dean Martin croons "Under The Bridges of Paris." Enjoy a little western set with Glen Campbell, followed by a gunfighter tale from the Ponderosa by Loren Green. Let's do "The Rock N' Roll Waltz" by Kay Starr. Hear Lou Rawls, Chad & Jeremy, Gale Garnett, Vic Damone and more.

On the Neon Beat this week, Jukebox 3: Ella Fitzgerald turns up the temp with a song form "Kiss Me Kate." Bobby Darin follows up with his hit, "Beyond The Sea." Hear the Nat King Cole song that defined an era, "Unforgettable." We'll play Dean Martin's "That's Amore" and a great Big Band take on the song "S' Wonderfu" with Les Brown and Doris Day.
