Neon Beat on Radio George - 8.5.13

On the Neon Beat this week Jukebox 1: The Ames Brothers launch this set with an old Jazz standard, "On A Slow Boat To China." Rose Clooney follows up with "You're Just Too Marvelous For Words." Hear a smooth 1955 hit for Nat King Cole, "A Blossom Fell." We'll have a cuppa joe with Frank Sinatra singing, "The Coffee Song." Enjoy an amorous number by Jo Stafford called, "Teach Me Tonight."
Enjoy some great big band with Benny Goodman. Listen to a hit song from the film "Calamity Jane" sung by Doris Day. Hear Jerry Vale, Andy Williams, and a fun early 60's hit from down under by Rolf Harris.

On the Neon Beat this week, Jukebox 3: New Orleans Trumpeter Al Hirt opens this hour with "Cotton Candy." Wilburt Harrison follows with his hit song all about the city of fountains. Bette Midler teams up with Barry Manilow to sing a Peggy Lee standard.(expresses my sentiments zactly:) Then we'll play a Peg hit she sang with Benny Goodman, "Why Don't You Do Right." Hear a lovely version of "Our Winter Love" by The Lettermen.
