On the Neon Beat Show 32R3: On this edition we'll include a few requests. A Kansas City listener wishing to hear the Hank Williams song, “Cold Cold Heart” sung by Tony Bennett. And a couple from a Wichita listener who suggested one by Cab Calloway and a little Disney magic with the voice of Jiminy Cricket from Pinocchio: Cliff Edwards. The hour opens with Dean Martin singing “You're Nobody til Somebody Loves You” followed with Dionne Warwick singing a fine Burt Bacharach/Hal David standard. Hear a couple of the great groups of the day like the Casinos singing “Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye” and the Four Aces with “Wedding Bells” (breakin' up that old gang of mine.) Listen to hit songs by Peggy Lee, Paul Anka, Petula Clark, Johnny Mathis and Perry Como. Crank up some great big band with Benny Goodman's “Jersey Bounce, and Harry James with the “Two O Clock Jump”. Along with Cab Calloway catch some more classics with Mildred Bailey doing “Rocking Chair” and Fred Astaire with “No Strings Fancy Free”. And relax to a classy rendition of “Canadian Sunset” by Berlin pianist Horst Jankowski. Good stuff. Good listening.
