On The Neon Beat: We start this hour with a couple of 1966 hit songs starting with “Georgie Girl” by The Seekers followed by Marty Wilde with a song about that great city in southern Wales, “Abervagenny”. Our film and stage music includes Eydie Gorme with her effervescent rendition of Irving Berlin's “Be Careful It's My Heart” from “Holiday Inn.” Rosemary Clooney sings “April in Paris”, Vic Damone performs a song from “West Side Story,” and listen to Lulu with her 1967 hit song from “To Sir With Love.” Get two songs for the price of one as the Lettermen sing “Traces” and “Memories.” We'll reunite the Vogues to do an old Four Lads hit song, “No Not Much.” Listen to Frank Sinatra with “It Happened in Monterrey,” Louis Armstrong with “When You're Smiling”, and a gorgeous rendition of the song “Eternally” by Sarah Vaughan. We'll fulfill a request for a fine version of the song “I Believe” as we team up Brook Benton and Dinah Washington. Hear songs with Tony Bennett, Peggy Lee, and Robert Goulet. And enjoy our great period instrumental offerings with Lawrence Welk, Bert Kaempfert, and the orchestra of Ralph Marterie. Good stuff. Enjoy the memories!
