Neon Beat on Radio George - 12.17.12

On this week's Neon Beat, Jukebox 1: The Four Lads kick off this hour with the Ray Conniff singers, "Put A Light In the Window." The Carpenters follow up with "It's Going To Take Some Time." Dean Martin cranks out a fun hit he sang in "Oceans Eleven." "Ain't Love A Kick In The Head." Listen to the tight harmonies of The Mills Bros, with, "Be My Life's Companion." Al Martino sings a war time favorite amoungst WW2 Allied and German soldiers. "Lili Marlene." We also include some Christmas favs with Judy Garland, Louis Armstrong, and Harry Belefonte.

On this week's Neon Beat, Jukebox 2: We open with a Bobby Darin favorite, "Dream Lover." Enjoy the "Swingin' Shepherd Blues" by the Moe Kauffman Septet. Glenn Yarborough follows up with a theme from a Steve McQueen movie. Here Frank Sinatra sing, "The World We Knew." Enjoy another film theme from Picnic with the McGuire Sisters. Barbra Streisand sings a 1964 song that was heard in the Disney film, "Pinnochio." Also hear some Holiday favs with Nat Cole, New Christy Minstrels, & Mitch Miller.

This week on The Neon Beat, Juke 3: This hour launches with a steamy classic by Eartha Kitt, "Cest Si Bon." (so good) Nat King Cole follows with his 1962 chart hit, "Ramblin' Rose." Hear the Carpenters with one of their 1970's chart hits, "Top Of The World." Listen to Frankie Avalon's "Venus." Ray Charles performs a great Hoagy Carmichael song. Listen to Tony Bennett's signature hit, "I Left My Heart In S.F." Hear Peggy Lee, Henry Mancini, including several seasonal fav's by Dean Martin, Robert Goulet & Jim Nabors.
