Neon Beat on Radio George - September 30, 2013

On the Neon Beat this week, Jukebox 1: Peggy Lee begins the set with a charming little "Doodlin' Song." Perry Como follows up with the Mitchell Ayers Orchestra & the Ray Charles Singers, "Papa Loves Mambo" Hear a song by the Four Lads known as "A Paper Of Pins" (Also called, "The Bus stop Song.") Hear some great instrumentals by Mantovani, Jackie Gleason, and Harry James. Robert Goulet sings "I've Got The World On A String" Louis Armstrong and Bing Crosby team up "At The Jazz Band Ball." Hear Tony Bennett's "I Left My Heart... in?  Frankie Valli, Sarah Vaughan and more.. ( i almost named this show, "gotta Have my tunes!" Enjoy.

On the Neon Beat this week, Jukebox 2: The "Drifters" launch this set with one of their high charting standards, "On Broadway" Then Elvis sings of another place where the neon lights are bright, "Viva Las Vegas" We team up Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra with a fun little romp called, "Well Did You Evah?" Kay Starr sings a jazzy version of "Up A Lazy River" Hear a country song that proved a 1962 hit for Nat King Cole, "Rambling Rose." On the Neon Beat this week, Jukebox 3: This star-studded hour begins with a little "Sway-in" with Dean Martin. Frank Sinatra follows with one of his top charting hits, "Strangers In The Night." Louis Armstrong sings a song from the Broadway musical, "Mame." Hear Patti Page's version of the John Hartford song, "Gentle On My Mind." Listen to Frankie Avalon's "Venus." The first lady of song, Ella Fitzgerald performs "Everytime We Say Goodbye." Ray Conniff, The Lettermen, Marty Robbins, Anne Murray's version of "Dannys Song" and lots more.. Have a great week!
