The Neon Beat at Radio George - 3.9.15

On The Neon Beat this week, Jukebox 1: Lou Rawls opens this great set with his hit, “You’ll Never Find Another Love Like Mine.” Then enjoy a great Glenn Miller standard for slow dancin’ with Les Brown and the Ames Brothers singing “Moonlight Seranade.” We’ll team up Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby for a bawdy film number from “High Society” called, “Well, Did You Evah?” Nat King Cole croons a lovely song from a 1951 film called “Anna.” Hear some television music performed by Nelson Riddle and Sammy Davis Jr. Enjoy a song from “Meet Me in St. Louis” sung by Judy Garland. Barbra Streisand sings one of her many 1960’s hits, “He Touched Me.” Ella Fitzgerald swings with a great Artie Shaw big band hit, “Begin the Beguine.” Hear Pat Boone, Georgia Gibbs and much mo.

On the Neon Beat this week, Jukebox 2: Louis Armstrong teams up with Bing Crosby for some great Naw’lins jazz as they sing, “Way Down Yonder In New Orleans.” Then listen to the lovely Jo Stafford as she performs, “Sunday Kind Of Love.” We’ll spin some Frank Sinatra a great Cole Porter selection. Then “try” to sit still as go rockin’ with Perez Prado’s “Rock-a-mambo Number 5.” Enjoy some smooth film music sung by The Lettermen with the theme from “Summer Place.” We’ll track some classic Lena Horne singing “The Lady Is a Tramp.” Hear Kansas City’s Marilyn Maye as we play, “”If My Friends Could See Me Now.
