Neon Beat on MixCloud - 2.19.23

On the Neon Beat Show 100R6:  We kick off this hour with, what was, a fine come-back hit song for Engelbert Humperdinck.  Hear his 1976 hit song, “After the Loving”.  We follow that with a song that one reviewer said “you can actually taste”.  Sammy Davis Jr sings, “The Candy Man”.  Listen to a rather noir and amorous version of “Black Coffee” sung by bombshell Julie London.  Enjoy solid gold songs sung by more great women of song:  Petula Clark, Nancy Sinatra, Chicago's own Joni James, and you'll hear a Stuart Hamblin favorite performed by Rosemary Clooney.  We'll team up Nancy Sinatra with producer Lee Hazelwood for their fun take on a country song called, “Jackson”.  We'll follow that with a reticent little hit tune for BJ Thomas.  “Everybody's Out of Town.”  Then hear Vic Damone's rendition of a swing era song called, “There I've Said it Again”.  Get your instrumental fix with Roger Williams' playing the theme from “Born Free”, Acker Bilk's lovely “Stranger on the Shore”, and Nelson Riddle with “Lisbon Antigua”.  We'll give the mic to the chairman of the board as Frank Sinatra sings a film song (The Cool Ones) “This Town”.  More with Ed Ames, Burl Ives, Dick Haymes, and a Vegas take on Nat King Cole doing “The Continental”.  Now playing! - https://www.mixcloud.com/john-christopher10/the-neon-beat-show-101r6/?fbclid=IwAR2jEmJaMHS5MZ0LEh63DFDOpv0ZGONDy50wq3l_hfr8NrudfpQ9YaTq9Y4
