The Neon Beat on Radio George - February 19, 2013

On The Neon Beat this week, Jukebox 1: This hour of the NB kicks off with The King Of Swing, Benny Goodman with his radio show theme, "Let's Dance!" Nat King Cole follows up with his 1957 play for a rock n' roll hit called "Send For Me." Listen to Judy Collins sing a lovely Joni Mitchell song, "Both Sides Now." Hear Dennis Yost and The Classics 4 with one of their hits, "Spooky." Listen to Robert Goulet with his signature hit from Camelot. Enjoy a great song by Judy Garland, "I Got Rhythm." On The Neon Beat this week, Juke 2: Tony Bennett opens this hour with a fun and flippant song called, "Firefly." We'll hear Sammy Davis Jr. do a period film song, ala Vegas, called, "On A Clear Day." (note the dated airline reference) Barbra Streisand sings a song written in part by Truman Capote called "A Sleeping Bee." Hear Glen Campbell's "Galveston."
