Neon Beat on Radio George - 2.10.14

On the Neon Beat this week, Jukebox 1: Try to sit still as Al Hirt launches this set with some honey in the horn as he performs, "Fancy Pants." Then, "Just In Time" we turn the turntable over to Mr. Tony Bennett. Listen to Kansas City's Marilyn Maye, "If My Friends Could See Me Now!" Hear some great big band with Benny Goodman as we do "The Jersey Bounce." Hear one of the great folk hits by the Seekers from 1965, "A World Of Our Own." Henry Mancini and the chorale group sing some great film music "The Day's Of Wine & Roses." Al Martino with "Volare", Nancy Sinatra with "Boots," Tom Jones, Andy Williams and more.

On The Neon Beat this week Jukebox 2: Sammy Davis Jr kicks off this hour with a chart hit from his album, "Pebble In the Sand." Then enjoy a toe tapping version of "That Old Bibao Song" sung by Andy Williams.
Barbra Streisand sings the female remake of a song originally titled, "She Touched Me." Vic Damone croons a film song from "Gigi." We'll "Swing On A Star" with Bing Crosby and the Williams Brothers.   1. I met Acker Bilk when he was touring Australia. Nice guy who enjoyed doing his show and didn't take it all too seriously. My sister's boyfriend was a local musician and took us to have a drink with him after the show.
