On the Neon Beat Show 76R6: Peggy Lee gets this session going with a fun little diddy called, “A Doodlin' Song”. Then Perry Como does a song with the Ray Charles Singers about a Latin dance craze that Papa loved followed up with some movie music from a 1950's Marilyn Monroe film, “Bus Stop”. We conclude the first segment with a lovely instrumental by the Mantovani Orchestra: “A Swedish Rhapsody.” Kick back and enjoy another instrumental offering by Jackie Gleason's Orchestra with their lush version of “Autumn Leaves”. Crank up some more theatre and film selections sung by our fine women of song including Rosemary Clooney singing one from “Gypsy”, Sarah Vaughan from “Damn Yankees”, Connie Francis with the theme from “Where the Boys Are”, and Doris Day with a hit number from “Pal Joey”. Robert Goulet will take the stage for the song “I've Got the World on a String”. Listen to Tony Bennett's signature hit, “I Left My Heart in S.F.” We'll play Frankie Valli's 1967 chart hit single, “Can't Take My Eyes off of You”, followed with Helen Reddy's signature hit song, “I Am Woman”. Hear Ricky Nelson sing “Poor Little Fool” from 1958. More with the Four Freshmen, Bing Crosby with Louis Armstrong, and Burl Ives. Laugh along with Phil Harris as he does “The Thing”. It's great music of the 1940's, 50's and 60's. Listen at:
