On the Neon Beat Show 72R6: I'm sayin'...”That's Life!” At least that's what all the people say. As we open this hour with the “chairman of the board”. One Mr. Frank Sinatra. Andy Williams takes the microphone next as he sings a hit song certainly much better than the period cult film it came from. Andy sings the song, “More”. Then lets “Face the Music and Dance” as we jazz it up with Anita O'Day. We'll team up Bing Crosby with Judy Garland for a fun little tate-a-tate tween' Judy and Bing called “Ya-Ta-Ta, Ya-Ta-Ta.” Our instrumental faire includes some great big band with Les Brown and his Band of Renown doing “How Bout You?” Hear trumpet player Al Hirt with “Fancy Pants”, the orchestra of David Rose with the “Swinging Shepherd Blues”, and Ray Anthony with the “Peter Gunn Theme”. Enjoy a folksy MOR pop set beginning with Jimmie Rodgers singing “Kisses Sweeter than Wine”, then we'll get on “Top of the World” with the Carpenters followed up with “Dream Baby” sung by Glen Campbell. Listen to Barbra Streisand's beautiful rendition of the song, “Evergreen” followed with a live recording of Barry Manilow singing “Daybreak” then hear a pop favorite by Bobby Vee. More with The Four Lads, Kay Starr, Sam Cooke, and a steamy number by a steamy number herself. Julie London. It's the music we know and love.
