The Neon Beat on Mixcloud - 2.13.22

On The Neon Beat Show 74R6:  The McGuire Sisters launch this hour with a theme from the 1956 film, “Picnic”.  Hear more great film and theatre selections this hour including the Marvelous Marilyn Maye singing a Cy Coleman song from “Sweet Charity”, Barbra Streisand with a number from “Funny Girl”, Louis Armstrong with a tune from “Hello Dolly”, and Henry Mancini with his orchestra and chorus with the theme from “Darling Lili”.  Also, we team up Bob Hope and Bing Crosby from the 1952 film, “Road to Bali”.  Our singing pizano's this hour include songs by Tony Bennett, Frankie Laine, Frank Sinatra and Perry Como.  Nat King Cole belts out a stunning version of the ol' Al Jolson standard, “Avalon”.  Crank up some great big band with Les Brown backing the Ames Brothers for “Sentimental Journey” and Benny Goodman with “Sometimes I'm Happy”.  Listen to Roger Williams with his beautiful version of “Autumn Leaves” followed up with “Kiddio” sung by Brook Benton.  More with Rosemary Clooney singing a fine Hoagy Carmichael standard and a little Brit invasion song by Chad and Jeremy singing, “Yesterday's Gone”.
