On The Neon Beat Show 69R6: Nat King Cole launches into another great set of music from the 40's, 50's and 60's with a snappy version of the song “Walking My Baby Back Home”. Then listen to some fine film music by Oscar Hammerstein and Ben Oakland sung by the lovely Eydie Gorme, “I'll Take Romance”. Listen to more great show music with Les Elgert doing a Barry Manilow song in tribute to Dick Clark's American Bandstand. Enjoy a big band version of a great Gershwin tune sung by Doris Day backed by Les Brown. Frank Sinatra remembers a great period Martin Scorsese movie singing “New York, New York”. And hear actress Judy Garland with “Meet Me in Saint Louis”. Enjoy some fine New York jazz with a rendition of a Sinatra cover called “Can I Steal a Little Love” sung by good friend Jerry Costanzo and his great band. Will spin more songs sung by some more fine period Italian paisonos like Tony Bennett, Frankie Laine, and Perry Como. Turn up some great big band and cut-a-rug with a hi-fi recording of that great Glenn Miller standard, “In the Mood”. Listen to Robert Goulet with a lovely version of “Mamselle,” followed with The Four Preps singing “Down by the Station” and Connie Francis with “Together”. More with Louis Armstrong, Ralph Flanagan, Steve Lawrence and a fun little novelty diddy called “Mairzy Doats” by the Merry Macs.
