On the Neon Beat Show 104R6: AS we open this hour of the show we go “straight to the moon” with Sarah Vaughan. Then we'll track a song with Tony Bennett and Count Basie singing about that “Toddlin' Town”. Next, we'll play another old song that Connie Francis was able to revive into another hit record for herself: “My Happiness”. Then listen to Lawrence Welk's theme song, “Bubbles in the Wine”. Hear two great period groups back to back by The Vogues and The Seekers then listen to a song by Glen Campbell listed as one of the top 500 hit songs of all time. Get your “Jump Jive and Wailin'” on with Louis Prima followed with a Doodling Song by Peggy Lee, and a lovely movie song “Laura” sung by Vic Damone. We'll team up Frank Sinatra with daughter Nancy for their 1967 surprise hit song, “Something Stupid”. We'll head out on the mother road with Nat King Cole as we get our kicks on “Route 66” followed up with some Big Band swing with Benny Goodman. More great memories on the turntable with songs by Andy Williams, Joni James, Al Martino and Rosemary Clooney. And we'll wrap it up with a fun little instrumental diddy called simply, “I Was Kaiser Bill's Batman”. It turned up in a lot of TV schtick. You'll remember it when you hear it. Oy!
