Neon Beat on MixCloud - 9.4.23

On the Neon Beat Show 111R6:  “Hand me down my soup and fish!”  We open this hour with a rousing polka with Perry Como backed by the Fontane Sisters singing “Hoop De Doo!”  Hang out for another great polka rendition as we fill the dance floor for one by Lawrence Welk later in the hour.   We'll also do some slow dancin' to a Glenn Miller standard with the Ames Brothers singing “Moonlight Serenade.”  Dig on some more great big band with Glen Gray's Casa Loma Orchestra with their sprite version of “Topsy.”  Tune in for a fine set including Rosemary Clooney with “Just Because”, Eddie Fisher with his signature hit song, “Anytime”, and Bing Crosby with the Andrews Sisters with a great Johnny Mercer tune.  Listen to Matt Monro with a breathtaking version of “Ebb Tide” followed up with a standard by Little Anthony and the Imperials.  Hear Henry Mancini inject a little “sax” in your day with “The Pink Panther Theme.”  Gale Garnett is next with her 1964 Grammy award winning song, “We'll Sing in the Sunshine” followed by “the” hit single that defined an era:  Nat King Cole's “Unforgettable”.We'll spin records by Petula Clark, Patti Page, Vic Damone, Anita Bryant and Canadian crooner Michael Buble.  Ear candy.  Enjoy!
